LVT-AA-X1 Anti Aircraft Amtrac

This vehicle, modified by Ingersoll Products Division of Borg-Warner, had the turret and dual 40mm anti-aircraft guns from an M42A1 self-propelled mount. The ammunition rack was a “Lazy Susan” type of ready rack with eight compartments of seven four-round clips, There was a tube from the turret base to the hull bottom which formed a chute for spent cases. A total of 1000 rounds was carried, 224 in the rack and 776 in the hull. Only one was ever built for testing and evaluation.
